Call for Workshop Proposals

We are now accepting full proposals for the WEFTEC 2024 workshops.

Workshops are held on Saturday and Sunday at WEFTEC and cover subjects in depth, using different teaching methods than podium presentations. Hands-on, highly interactive, in-depth workshops are preferred.

Workshops involve multiple speakers representing a diversity of companies, utilities, and/or manufacturers. Ideally, they receive WEF Technical Committee sponsorship so that they have the fullest input to understand what WEF is looking for and values in a workshop.

It is now time to begin the process of developing full Workshop Proposals for WEFTEC 2024. If you are interested in submitting a full proposal, the due date will be December 5, 2023 and proposals need to be submitted to Mary Ann Linder at mlinder@wef.org. Before you being, please take a few minutes to read through all the available guidance documents and materials below.

How to Submit

The WEFTEC Workshop Subcommittee is pleased to announce we are accepting workshop full-proposals for WEFTEC 2024!

Workshops generally occur on Sunday and as half-day workshops on Monday through Wednesday. The goal is to create a highly interactive, hands-on learning experience.

Workshop Guidance Document – This document has been developed to help submitters understand what the Review Committee is looking for in a proposal. It contains valuable information and guidance on creating interactive sessions.
Workshop Timeline- Help ensure you stay on track and involve the right people at the right time.
Workshop Subcommittee Contacts- Submitters are highly encouraged to involve a WEF Technical Community in developing and supporting the workshop. Check this list to make sure you are involving the right person. If a Technical Community does not have a representative listed, please contact the Chair instead.
Tips for Writing Learning Objectives- This short guidance document will help you create your learning objectives. There are over 70 words to choose from to help craft strong learning objectives and 10 words to avoid. Submitters are expected to follow this when developing the writing learning objectives.
Proposal Form- Note, this is a new form for 2024 and has several new questions and a new agenda template. Make sure if you are re-submitting a proposal, you use this updated proposal!
Community Sponsorship Form- You will work with the Workshop Subcommittee member (if applicable) or Community Chair to fill this out. As a submitter, you do not submit this, instead the Community will send to Mary Ann Linder (mlinder@wef.org) by the deadline.
Facilitator Confirmations- NEW for 2024- we are no longer doing paper forms but instead, all facilitators listed on a proposal are expected to go to the google form and complete it by December 5.
Scoring Matrix- To give you an idea of how proposals are scored and what the Subcommittee is looking for. This is a highly competitive process.
Workshop Checklist- NEW for 2024- Submitters are expected to download the short checklist and submit it along with the proposal. This indicates that you have completed various steps in the process.
