This October WEFTEC Connect will begin and end with keynote addresses that will provide inspiration and advice on how you as a water sector professional can adapt and thrive during challenging times.

Opening General Session

On Monday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. EDT, René Rodriguez will offer the Opening General Session keynote, which is titled, “Clarity Through Crisis." During this presentation, he will use his training and experience in applied behavioral neuroscience to teach water professionals how to reframe adversity and harness the power of courage.

“My job as a leader is not just to move your heart,” Rodriguez says. “It’s to move your feet. … I’ve got to inspire those feet to move, to do something, to engage in something.”

Applying the skills that Rodriguez will share can help make you a more thoughtful, engaged, and adaptable leader during normal times and in moments of crisis. He is ready to inspire, educate, and entertain you with content from his Courage Scale Model and Brain Model packaged with fun, interactive, and custom-designed elements to make this year's virtual Opening General Session a unique, engaging, and dynamic experience.

This powerful program will set the tone for 5 days of dynamic, immersive learning and networking by inspiring water professionals to embrace the clarity that comes from crisis.

Closing Session

Then, on Friday, Oct. 9, at 3:45 p.m. EDT, a trio of speakers will lead the Closing Session, which is titled, “Leaning Into the Curve.”

During this time of uncertainty, everyone is experiencing a learning curve as we adapt to changes in our world. Rather than resisting, we’re “leaning into the curve” to become more adaptable, innovative, and influential leaders.
