The Water Environment Federation is proud to announce two recipients of the 2020 Innovative Technology Awards. This competition recognizes up to four outstanding technologies and companies from among WEF Exhibitor Members who have introduced new innovative products or services related to the water sector.
After 3 days of pulse-pounding action, the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Virginia) crowned the winners of Operations Challenge 2020 during an awards ceremony on October 8.
Operations Challenge — the annual skills-based competition between teams of the world’s most elite wastewater professionals — will adapt to a fully virtual format for 2020. The competition will be available via WEFTEC Connect with competitors live streaming their performances.

The Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association's Elevated Ops from Denver won Division 1 and the Water Environment Association of Texas’ South Mesquite Rangers from Mesquite placed first in Division 2.
As elite teams of water professionals wrap up their final practice sessions before convening at WEFTEC 2019 for the 32nd annual Operations Challenge competition, the stage is set for the most action-packed test of professional skills in the competition’s history.
Competing at Operations Challenge is no easy feat. According to past challengers, competition preparation requires dedicated time for year-round training, administrative and budget planning, and cooperation and sportsmanship. As much as it takes, challengers agree: it’s well worth it.
The TRA CReWSers from the Water Environment Association of Texas took Division 1 and the Pooseidens also of the Water Environment Association of Texas won Division 2 in the 2018 Operations Challenge.
