The Global Center offers a space for learning about global water issues offering two days of programming including presentations and panel discussions of global interest with topics ranging from energy efficiency to global water stewardship. At the Global Center you can take a break and network with your fellow water community colleagues.

Global Center.jpgThe Global Center will have a steady stream of events throughout WEFTEC. WEF welcomes back the global water community at the WEFTEC Global Center.

Join us Monday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m. for the Global Center Inauguration kicked off by Walter Marlowe, WEF’s Executive Director and featuring a recorded message from Radhika Fox, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

On Monday at 10:30 a.m., Morten Siem Lynge from The Danish Water Technology Alliance in North America (WTA is a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark) will moderate a session titled, OPEX Improvement Through Energy Efficiency, Energy Production an Emission Control. This presentation will highlight advances by Danish utilities and companies in converting wastewater into renewable energy resources.

Later in the day, at 4:30 p.m., join Dean Amhaus President and CEO of The Water Council (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) as he presents a case study of connecting a company in Spain and one in Wisconsin. He will discuss how the partnership has helped both companies. It is another example of the global reach of The Water Council and how water works in Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, October 19, at 1:00 p.m., Mohammed Haque, District Manager and Chief Executive of the Northern Moraine Wastewater Reclamation District and Executive Director of the Central States Water Environment Association (CSWEA) will moderate the session, Global Water Stewardship: Sustainable Solutions in Costa Rica. CSWEA founded the Global Water Stewardship organization in 2013. Haque will introduce Global Water Stewardship’s history, goals, methods, and some of its current work to provide sustainable solutions to water quality issues in Costa Rica.
