Water Palooza

Discover the world of water at Water Palooza, an environmental and water awareness fair for K-9 students in the WEFTEC area. Volunteers showcase water quality and conservation through engaging booths, fostering a love for water in young minds.

Join us on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at a local Chicago elementary school. Inspire students to be water stewards and contact WEF Staff Ama Richardson to volunteer.

Community Service Project

Since 2008, the WEF Community Service Project has helped WEFTEC host cities. with more than 6 rain gardens, 8 bioswales, 2 outdoor classrooms, and 1 stormwater managing walkway, all of which include hundreds of native plantings.

Registration for the Service Project is free and open to all WEFTEC attendees and their guests.

Student Design Competition

Join the WEFTEC Student Design Competition for real-world design experience. Organized by the SDC Planning Committee, this annual event encourages university student teams from WEF Member Associations to showcase their skills in wastewater and environmental design. Top 4 teams in each category are recognized, with around 25 teams from 5 countries competing annually.
