2017 Call for Abstracts

The WEFTEC Program Committee is pleased to announce we are now accepting abstracts for the Technical Sessions.  Before you begin the submission process, take a minute to view the Call for Abstracts. Make sure you also review the Abstract Requirements and Guidelines.  Abstract submissions are due by December 1 at 11:59 pm Eastern.

You will need to use your WEF log-in to access the online submission site.  If you do not have one or are a non-member, you will be asked to create a WEF log-in. The WEF log-in gives you single sign-on to a multitude of WEF related activities including the specialty conference call for abstracts (when open), the WEF Knowledge Center, WEFCOM and anything e-commerce related.  For assistance with log-in, please contact 1-800-666-0206 or 1-571-830-1545 or

WEFTEC 2017 Call for IKEstracts

The WEF Program Committee is now seeking submissions for our Interactive Knowledge Exchange Session through January 18! Curious what an IKE is? View the IKEs on YouTube and the list of IKE winners from WEFTEC 2016.

Before you start, take a moment to read the Call for IKEstracts. You will submit your IKE abstract using the same website as the abstracts above - click on the blue Submit Here button, then look for the IKE abstract submission option. You have until January 18, 2017 at 11:59 pm Eastern to complete the submission. Note: a video is NOT due until you have been selected to participate. This portion is just a written submission.

WEFTEC 2017 Call for Workshops

Interested in creating a workshop for WEFTEC 2017? Start the process now! Full proposal forms are due November 7, 2016.

Pre-proposals were due July 13. If you did not submit one, don’t worry - you can still submit a full workshop proposal. However, we highly encourage you to involve the relevant WEFTEC Workshop Review Committee member. If you don’t know who that is, please reach out to Mary Ann Linder at for contact details.

The full proposal takes some time, thought, and effort to develop. There are several forms to read and fill out. To help you along the process, here is a quick glance at the various steps:

  1. Read the flow chart to see how the development process for the workshops works.
  2. Review the brief document on how to create an interactive session. Interactivity is one of the most critical components of a good workshop.
  3. Read the scoring matrix, so you know what you will be judged on.
  4. Download the full proposal form.  This takes a bit more time and thought. There are many forms to read and fill out.  The first step is to read all of the materials. Then begin working on the actual proposal form. Make sure when you submit the form, you submit the word document, not a PDF!
  5. Confirm your facilitators (i.e. speakers) and make sure you have them fill out a facilitator confirmation form. Please submit these with the proposal form.
  6. Verify that the WEF Technical Committee recommendation form will be coming directly from the Committee itself (not the proposal developer!).
  7. By November 7, send your completed proposal forms and facilitator confirmations to The Committee recommendation forms should come directly from the Committee itself.

If you have questions, email Mary Ann Linder at or call 703-684-2442.
