The Water For People World Water Classic 6/60k challenge is back for 2021. You can register to walk or run 6k, bike 60k, do both, or choose your own activity like paddling, skating, or swimming. This year the Classic also has in person options in Chicago.
Sign up now to reserve your spot. For the virtual events, you can move any time between October 15 and 24 and your registration will help provide improved water and sanitation through Water For People’s programs. Or register to join us in Chicago for a 6k walk or a bike ride on October 17. This event is held in conjunction with WEFTEC, but participation is open for all.
Water For People is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021, and your participation in the Classic is helping to make its mission a reality: A world where everyone has access to reliable, clean water and improved sanitation systems that lasts forever.
Why 6k?
Why 6k instead of 5k? Water access directly impacts women and girls in developing countries, who walk an average of 6k per day to get water for drinking, bathing, and cooking. You can help reduce that burden that by participating.
Registration Info
You can register for either the virtual 6k walk/run or 60k bike ride for US$30; and do both for a discounted registration of US$40. The in-person events also have US$30 registration fees; and space is limited.
All adult registrants will receive Water For People branded athletic socks, and the knowledge you’re helping others to no longer walk 6k to fetch water.
Feeling Competitive?
On top of your registration, you can choose to fundraise, too. The top individual fundraiser will receive a prize. You also can create or join a run, bike, or combo team with your co-workers, friends, or family. The team with the most members and the team that fundraises the most will also be recognized.
