Give Back to Our Host City

WEFTEC 2024 in New Orleans is more than just a premier event for water professionals — it's an opportunity to give back. This year, we’re excited to introduce several initiatives that allow attendees to make a meaningful difference for our host city.Expo23_volunteering.JPG

On-Site Activities

Xylem_Logo.svg.pngStop by the Hilton Riverside and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to participate in our Laundry Kit and STEM Kit Building Activities. These events, with the generous support of our Sustainability Partner, Xylem, will take place from October 5-8. Volunteers will assemble laundry kits for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and STEM kits for Community Works of Louisiana, sparking curiosity and supporting hands-on learning for local children.

Community Engagement

Dive deeper into community service with Water Palooza. This annual event, held the Friday before WEFTEC, is an educational fair at an elementary school. Students engage in activities that highlight the importance of water conservation and environmental stewardship. To volunteer Contact Ama Richardson at arichardson@wef.org

For the WEF Community Service Project, scheduled for October 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., prepare yourself to build, plant, paint, and rehabilitate an outdoor worksite. Both of these events will take place at St. Mary's Academy in New Orleans. To sign-up, add this event to your registration (it’s free!) when you register for WEFTEC. If you have already registered for WEFTEC, you can contact customer service and ask them to help you add this event to your profile.

Why Participate?

By joining these activities, you'll be contributing to the well-being of New Orleans, gaining hands-on experience, and connecting with fellow water professionals dedicated to sustainability. Whether you're a buyer, learner, or operator, there's a way for you to get involved and make a difference.

Let's come together to leave a positive mark on our host city. Visit the designated locations at WEFTEC 2024 and participate in these sustainability and volunteer initiatives. See you there, ready to make a difference!
