Energy Production, Conservation, and Management at WEFTEC
EMPOWERING THE WATER SECTOR TO EMBRACE SUSTAINABILITY
Energy use at a water or wastewater utility can be 30% to 50% of the municipality’s total electricity consumption, making energy sustainability a critical issue for operators, managers, and designers alike. By practicing energy conservation, recognizing and recovering the energy in wastewater, utilities can become net energy producers rather than consumers. Several sessions at WEFTEC address energy management and production at WRRFs.
WEFTEC offers energy mentoring in small sessions, exposure to innovative startup companies, dozens of presentations by the leading authorities in energy management, as well as a hands-on workshop.
