Monday, October 13 By special arrangement only

All booths must be setup by 5:00pm on Saturday, October 18.  Exhibitors ARE NOT permitted to setup booths on Sunday, October 19. 

Please refer to the targeted freight floor plan for dates and times that you may begin installation.

Show Location, Days and Hours


The Exhibition will be held in Halls B and C of McCormick Place.

 
Sunday, October 19 Show Hours 1:00pm – 4:30pm
Monday, October 20 Show Hours 9:30am – 4:30pm
Tuesday, October 21 Show Hours 9:30am – 4:30pm
Wednesday, October 22 Show Hours 9:30am – 4:30pm
              
On show days, exhibitors may access the hall starting at 8:30 am.

Private Demonstrations


Private demonstration hours will be scheduled after the close of each show day on Sunday through Tuesday.  Demo hours are set up so exhibitors can meet with clients without noisy booth traffic that takes place during normal exhibit hours.

Move-out Days and Hours


Dismantling of exhibits and packing of equipment may not begin until the official closing of the exhibition at 4:30pm on Wednesday, October 22.

The exhibitor service areas will be located in meeting rooms N227 and N228 on the lower level of the convention center.

Show Management

 

The show management office will be located in the exhibitor service area, in room N227.  Floor Manager stations will be located on the show floor in each hall.  Onsite contact information for Show Management will be published at a later date.

Liability and Insurance

The Exhibitor must maintain required worker's compensation insurance on all employees on site at WEFTEC and must maintain public liability insurance naming WEF and the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, its facilities, agents, officers, board members and employees as additional insureds.  Additionally, the Chicago Park District, its agents, officers, board members and employees must be named as additional insureds.

 

Also, it is advisable for Exhibitors to have insurance coverage on their products and exhibits.  Such coverage can usually be provided by requesting a rider to your company’s existing policy.  Below is a list of insurance providers that you may contact, if you do not already have such coverage.

Parking and Transportation

There are several parking lots nearby to the McCormick Place facility.  Daily rates are priced well below other lot rates in the city.  All lots are handicap accessible.


South and North Buildings

Exhibitor Reserved Parking: This service is offered in Lots A and C only.  Reserved spaces are guaranteed even if the lots are filled to capacity.  Privileges also include unrestricted parking for move-in, show and move -out days.  Permits will be sent to you in advance.  An Exhibitor Reserved Parking form will be included with the materials provided to you for your Exhibitor Kit. 


Lot A (also known as MLK Lot) is located across from McCormick Square.  It offers over 1,500 parking spaces.

Lot B (also known as 31st Street Lot) is located at 31st Street near Lake Shore Drive South and Moe Drive.  It holds over 2,000 vehicles.

Daily parking passes are $20 and may be obtained through the center.



Hyatt Regency McCormick Place

The hotel manages a 600 car indoor garage located onsite at the hotel.


Regional Transit Authority (METRA)

Located on level 2.5 of the Grand Concourse, METRA provides direct service within seven minutes to and from downtown Chicago.  Service from the Randolph Station (connected to Hyatt Regency Chicago) to McCormick Place begins early morning.  Shuttle connections can be made to the Metra System.  METRA services the Midwest as far north as Kenosha, WI and East to South Bend, IN.

Taxi Services

All taxis run on meters.  Upon entering a cab the fare is $2.25 and $1.60 thereafter.  McCormick Place is approximately 30 minutes from Midway Airport and 40 minutes from O'Hare.  Expect to pay between $35 - $45 one-way between the airports and downtown.

Shared Taxi Program

This transportation option allows up to four passengers to share a taxicab for a flat $5 per person fare.  The program covers hotels, restaurants and other attractions within the downtown area.

Do’s and Don’ts
 

 

  • Do not tip any labor employee
  • Do not give coffee breaks to union employees; they have paid mid-morning and afternoon breaks 
  • Do report any solicitation for a gratuity to Freeman and Show Management  
  • Do report any difficulty with personnel or dissatisfaction of work performed to Freeman 
  • Do inspect and sign all work order forms
  • Do review all invoices before the close of show
  • Do review any arrangements you are making for dismantling if you will not be present and the contractor must supervise 
  • Do not leave valuables unattended
  • Do hire an in-booth guard if your valuables are too bulky to be easily moved 
  • Do not smoke in McCormick Place 
  • Do not block “no freight” aisles
  • Do not dismantle your booth before 4:30pm on Wednesday, October 22
